    BMW 335i/135i Performance Aluminum Radiator

    Finally, we made it to our day of testing! We had previously confirmed fitment and made a few minor adjustments to some external end-tank features to improve coolant flow and ease of installation. A member of E90post was kind enough to lend us his vehicle for this round of testing. This 2007 sedan was equipped with a manual transmission, JB4 software and an intake. This vehicle would be ideal for collecting testing data, we have found that the "Average" E9X owner has similar modifications.

    First, we needed to remove the factory unit and replace it with the Mishimoto radiator. We would be testing our unit first followed by the OEM radiator.     BMW 335i/135i Performance Aluminum Radiator

    Test-fitting day! After scouring local forums and maxing out our contact list, we were finally able to locate a 335i owner willing to lend us his vehicle for the day.

    Peering into this engine bay reveals " well, not much really. Shrouding and the upper radiator support hide the radiator almost completely. The entire package is mounted fairly far forward in the vehicle, and the best glimpse when fully installed is of the radiator hose connections. Check out a few shots of the stock radiator still installed.

    BMW 335i/135i Performance Aluminum Radiator

    Welcome back! While I am sure you haven't slept in days, anticipating the next edition of this thread, the team at Mishimoto has been hard at work. Two, yes two, initial prototypes were developed and one selected to move forward with testing. We won't extend the wait any longer, so check out prototype number one below.

    This rad is aluminum, and it features a fairly thick core and some pretty well-made quick-disconnect inlets. Keep in mind that this is a rough prototype, lacking the polish and showmanship of a mass-produced unit. At this time we are simply moving towards a final design.     BMW 335i/135i Performance Aluminum Radiator

    The BMW E90 combines the use of forced induction and a silky smooth inline-six engine to produce very impressive power output, and an extraordinary response to additional modifications. Simple bolt-on modifications and tuning can net an additional 80 hp to 100 hp, which is an unreal bang for your buck. The E90 is a fantastic vehicle with all the creature comforts needed, while also generating quite a flurry of power when the skinny pedal is pressed to the floor. That being said, this vehicle is not completely faultless. It is plagued with typical BMW cooling issues, so water pump failures are quite common, and keeping coolant and oil temperatures under control can be an absolute nightmare. For those who do not have an oil cooler from the factory, even aggressive street driving can be an issue. By eliminating these pitfalls, one can have a very competitive
