Endurance is all about the long term. Building endurance in the automotive industry might mean keeping the car on the track for a few more minutes or stretching the same performance over a few extra years. Since the 2020+ Supra finds itself taking up both track and daily driving duties, we wanted to make sure our new radiators cover all the bases in improving the Supra's endurance.

The demand for quality has sharply increased over the years. In the past, overheating sometimes was a part of owning a performance vehicle. The technology behind cooling has improved by leaps and bounds over the past decade, leaving a small margin for increasing performance. That's especially true when a BMW badge is involved. Even still, there were improvements to be made to the Supra's cooling system, starting with its size and structure. Part of building the Supra's endurance entails that the cooling system stays fresh for the vehicle's life.

When it comes to keeping the Supra cool, it's a team effort. True, the primary radiator is the team captain, but if you recall from our first post, the cooling strategy for the B58 means every component is a key player. To make sure the entire team plays well together when you put the hammer down, we gave the same special attention to the auxiliary radiators. Our production samples are in, so let's take a look at the new design.

On the whole, these radiators received the same treatment as the primary unit. For starters, we ditched the plastic end tanks in favor of full aluminum units, which are TIG-welded to the core instead of crimped. This method of construction will result in a more durable and long-lasting radiator. Speaking of durability, we also designed these auxiliary radiators to accept the factory stone guards to avoid any potential punctures due to road debris. Couple that with our robust strutted tubes, and

When it comes to athletes, it's all about continuous improvement. Tireless training, coupled with the latest gear, ensure that athletes stay on top of their game. When it comes to the petrol-powered athlete that is the A90 Supra, the Mishimoto primary radiator is essentially a combination of the two, building the car's endurance with a shiny new piece of gear. Before we dive into how the new radiator performs though, let's take a look at our primary radiator production sample.

The most obvious improvement over the stock Supra primary radiator is the total lack of plastic on the Mishimoto replacement. As we covered in the last post, we ditched the plastic end tanks in favor of an all-aluminum design. This construction method significantly improves the radiator's durability by replacing the crimped-on plastic end tanks with TIG-welded aluminum, minimizing potential future leak points. That also means every connection and

Team: a group of persons associated in work or activity, striving for a common goal. Yes, the auxiliary coolers on the 2020+ Toyota Supra aren't what you'd consider being "persons," but the sentiment remains. Keeping the B58 operating within temperature is a group effort, and all members, no matter how small, do their part. These auxiliary radiators play an essential role in the cooling process at each end of the spectrum, so it' only makes sense that they would also receive a similar overhaul to our primary radiator.

The overall height of the core design is slightly shorter than stock, but our thicker core combined with the offset fins will more than make up for that.

Since these auxiliary pods are performing the same function as the primary radiator, the formula is the same - bigger. Even though these coolers are much smaller than the primary unit, the slightest adjustment in size can have a positive effect on the cooling

The Toyota Supra is essentially the definition of automotive athleticism. It's compact, agile, makes all of the right sounds, and the B58 is more than willing to give you a sharp shove back into the driver's seat at a moment's notice.  Though BMW/Toyota designed the Supra to be a top performer, even the most well-trained athletes can still succumb to the brutal heat. We here at Mishimoto already have the plans to keep the Supra running at peak performance.

If you remember back to our first post, and if you saw the sneak preview in our heat exchanger post, you might already know that it's a group effort when it comes to cool this B58. The front end of the Supra houses a squadron of different heat exchangers for both the cooling and intercooling systems, all working in tandem to ward off extreme heat. While they work hard in their OEM form, some aspects could lead to your A90 trying to catch its breath on the side of

At the first official utterance of the Supra's resurgence there was an immediate clamoring from fans about the car's performance. While the headlines were dominated with power and handling figures, there were few considerations of the A90's endurance. Keeping a performance car cool is a serious undertaking and cutting a track day or spirited drive short due to overheating is less than ideal. That's why we here at Mishimoto have your back to ensure you can stay on the track longer, but before we reveal our planned improvements, let's dive into the Supra's stock system.

    Coolant Switchboard

The BMW and Toyota (mostly BMW) engineering tag-team meant business when it came to keeping the Supra's B58 cool. Not only did they incorporate a 4-phase system to make efficient use of the cooling system, but they also included 3 radiators to maximize the power of the coolant. The primary radiator is flanked by two auxiliary units working
